About Us

The principal of Timberland Associates, Tom Busch, has over 30 years experience in land and timber management.

He worked for a major forest products company preparing the cutting budget and selling company timber for 3 years. Moving into forest management for 8 years, responsibilities included:  timber inventory;  upland and bottomland hardwood management;  hardwood tree planting;  pine site prep using  herbicides;  and fire lane construction and maintenance.
He was employed as a procurement forester for a major pine c-n-s and sawmill (50 MMbf annual production) in north Mississippi, and a hardwood sawmill and stave mill in middle Tennessee.

Having both bought and sold timber, Tom has an excellent understanding of both sides of the transaction. This experience can be put to work for the landowner and allows for both peace of mind and higher net returns.

Tom has performed forestry projects in the Ozarks, Lower Mississippi Alluvial Valley, Hilly and Middle Coastal Plain, Highland Rim, and the southern Appalachians.

He has the technical expertise and operational experience to get the job done "on the ground".
